This site is owned and operated by Bushido DVD Inc. (“Bushido DVD”). This Privacy Policy informs you how Bushido DVD collects, uses and discloses the personal information that you provide to us through the use of our website and subscription to our DVD rental service. By subscribing to the Bushido DVD rental service, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, "personal information" means information about an identifiable individual. Bushido DVD will not collect, use or disclose your personal information in a way that is incompatible with this Privacy Policy.
Collection and Use of Information
When you subscribe to the Bushido DVD rental service, we ask for your email address and a password, for your name, postal address, telephone number, a valid credit card number and a billing address. We use this information to process your rental requests and to ship requested DVDs to you. We use your telephone number for the sole purpose of contacting you in the event of emergency shipping or billing issues, and not for marketing or other purposes. Your credit card number and billing address are necessary for credit card verification/authorization for each monthly billing cycle. If you took advantage of a Free Trial Subscription, we would request that you provide a valid credit card number during the Free Trial period in the event that DVDs shipped during that period were not returned and charges for unreturned DVDs could be assessed. If you are paying by credit card, we continue to use the credit card number provided by you initially for billing purposes should you not cancel and continue as a Bushido DVD member. We use your email address to verify the activation of your account and to welcome new members to our web service, to notify you that DVDs in your rental list have been shipped to you, to notify you that DVDs you have returned to us have been received by us, to verify cancellation of your membership and to answer inquiries that you may send to us, and to communicate with you when necessary concerning billing, the administration of your account and the processing of your rental requests. As these functions are necessary to the proper administration of your account, we do not offer an opt-out from such email communication. We may also provide a third party with your e-mail information only in the event that we offer a "bonus service or product" upon registration to aid in the delivery of this bonus product or service to you.
Cookies
When you visit the Bushido DVD website, cookies are placed on your hard drive. A cookie is a small piece of information that a website can store on your web browser and later retrieve. We use cookies to help us track items you select, to match your address, keep track of your wishlist activity and to assist in the log in to your account. You have the ability to update or remove your personal information at any time by accessing the “My Account” section of our website. DVD Reviews
Our website contains a “Review” feature where you can, at your option, write a review for any DVD in our inventory. Reviews submitted by users will usually be read first by Bushido DVD site administrators before they are posted on the appropriate webpage. Site administrators may check the reviews to make certain they fall within the guidelines outlined within our site’s Terms and Conditions. While site administrators will be able to identify users who post particular comments, other users or site visitors will not have access to that information. In other words, your reviews are anonymous, unless you choose to place your name and/or location at the bottom of your written text. Users are encouraged to include a name and/or geographic location at the end of their review to help personalize this section of the website.
Rental and Subscription Services Analysis
Bushido DVD may also generate aggregate information about rentals and requests for titles and use of the subscription services to assist it in assessing and improving the subscription service. Bushido DVD does not use personal information in generating such analysis, nor does it relate this information to any individual member.
